Silence as Magic
For our ancestors, silence was not a lack of sound, but a living presence. Witches, druids, and wise women alike knew that a spell spoken too freely could be unravelled by the ears of others, or even scattered by careless winds. To guard against this, many workings were performed in stillness — with only gesture, thought, or will guiding the flow of energy.
In this way, silence itself became the spell. The breath unuttered carried the weight of mystery. The unspoken word gathered power instead of dispersing it.
